Barbabatch 5

Post by frankf »

Thought I’d post this here. There were inquiries on the list about audio file conversion. This 64 bit free upgrade to Barbabatch 5 is long awaited IMO. The was my go to conversion app for many years.

From Audio Ease,

Today we introduce BarbaBatch 5, a free upgrade for all users of BarbaBatch
4.

In its 25th year BarbaBatch has been rewritten as a 64 bit application
compatible with MacOS Catalina, staying as true to the original BarbaBatch
as possible while adding surround sound capabilities up to 10.2 channel
layouts.

We believe BarbaBatch is the most professional batch converter around
today, and we hope it will serve you well for the next quarter century.

Re: Barbabatch 5

Although I don't need or use Barbabatch, I want to note what a fine company Audio Ease is. I recently advised them of the need to re-instantiate Altiverb when switching buffer size in the latest version of DP. I received a prompt response from Aram, who assured me they were aware of the issue and a fix would be on the way as soon as they resolved an installer issue re: Catalina compatibility. The company's move in releasing the free Barbabatch upgrade is another example of Audio Ease's customer-centric approach to business, and it is much appreciated.

And, with the release of Barbabatch 5, I'm hopeful Audio Ease got the Catalina installer issue worked out and the Altiverb update will soon be available.
