Stopping system upgrade notifications

Post by Rick Averill »

Hi. I am running Mojave on my Mac and am not ready to upgrade to Catalina. Every day or two I get a notification pestering me to upgrade. I have to constantly tell it "later". Is there anyway to make it stop annoying me with this? I mean, I'm aware of the upgrade and will install it when I'm sure there are no problems.

In App Store Preferences there's an option to automatically check for updates. Maybe turn that off will help.

Thank you for your response. Nope, that's already turned off. Besides, the OS upgrade is not from the App Store, but from Apple.

I'm also running Mojave.

I was getting the daily requests to upgrade to Catalina, but several weeks ago I read about a newly released security update for Mojave and discovered that I had a download available. Since I installed the security update I stopped receiving the notifications for Catalina.

I still have the badge in the dock showing there's an upgrade available, but at least I don't have to cancel the requests every day.

There is a terminal command that does this. I don't remember what it is, but google does.

I haven’t tried this — running the last security update in Mojave did it for me http://www.iphonehacks.com/2019/04/how- ... tions.html
