Hard Drives

Post by Rainman »

Recently updated my iMac from a 2011 to a 2019. Have a wonderful set of TB-2 Toshiba drives from OWC in a quad format, JBOD is the term if I remember correctly. Now comes TB-3 and USB-C, I've purchased a plethora of cables and adapters, hubs etc to tie in everything from FW-4 to current platform, so far so good, can even use my old iMac as a 2nd monitor. I've been trying to find additional storage/back-up but have discovered that when you want to partition a 4 TB drive it's grayed out in the disk utility options, I must be missing something or am I too far behind the times? Perhaps it's just the brand?
DP 10.0, UA Apollo Two, UA Octo, far too many plugs.
