I just purchased a new laptop (MSI GS-73 Stealth 016). I bought this laptop because it has Thunderbolt 3 and I found a very good deal on it.
Anyway, I wanted Thunderbolt 3 specifically because I wanted to be able to use my MOTU UltraLite MK1 audio interface with it (because I figured that by now, someone has come up with a good Thunderbolt 3 to FireWire adapter). However, I cannot seem to find a good solution for this.
Many people online have mentioned using Apple's TB3 to TB2 converter, along with Apple's TB2 to FireWire adapter. This combo costs about $80 so I would rather not spend the money until I know it will actually work.
Will these Apple converters actually work well with a Windows computer? And does anyone have any firsthand experience with using these two adapters like this?
