This is the first time since upgrading to DP10 (or maybe just the latest point release) that I've needed to do a cross-fade of spliced audio in the Sequence Editor, and it is the first time in all my years of using DP that I can recall this not working.
The bar line for the spliced sound byte jumps at discrete intervals and can't be fine-tuned. This is a no-go, as I need a very specific splice point for the cross-fade to apply at, or else I'll get phase issues as it's a synth part (and I don't own the synth anymore so can't re-track it).
I have gone through all the Preferences and every hidden menu in the app, and can't figure out what caused this behavioural change or how to get out of this awful mode that frankly I can't conceive of EVER needing to use! Any edit I ever do is going to be fine-grained to minimize anomalies.

Yep, that was it -- thanks, Dave. I had seen that item in the menu but didn't click on it because I forgot that it brings up a full view of settings. I think I came across this issue once before, where it re-defaulted, but it was so long ago that I had forgotten the cause.
