anyone using and older G4 (sawtooth perhaps?) with an apple cinema display (via ADC)?
the monitor is taking power over the ADC and therefore adding to the load on the G4's power supply. mine has been working fine for a while, but i'm noticing problems ever since my 4.6 and Tiger upgrade (along with a PCI-424 upgrade) - the damn computer will freeze up in the weirdest ways - unlike anything i've seen in the past. i'm wondering if i've officially crossed the line power consumption wise and the thing is just giving up. i wonder if a powered ADC to DVI adapter would help the situation.
anyone care to comment?

More likely to be an issue with third party RAM or a USB device. Apple closees the tolerance to these items with every OS update. Pretty soon you will need to figure out how to run the Mac without any RAM.
The monitor is accounted for as far as power goes and has a seperate circuit in the PSU. The PCI bus has a limitation to how much power can be used. I doubt the MOTU card will push the limit if you don't have any other cards though. The PSU could be on its way out, use a DMM to test the output. Use a backup battery with AVR or a dedicated voltage regulator like a Tripp Lite. This removes power VooDoo from the mix.
