DP9.5 (64bit) & Track 16
I use DP almost every day and got weirdness when I opened it up today.
An error message that says "the audio hardware is an invalid or unsupported mode."
It's opening up in 48kHz instead of the regular 44.1 I've had it set at (to match samples I'm using) and won't let me change the sample rate back to 44.1.
Never had any problems - at all - before.
Thanks in advance for insights anyone can offer.

Re: DP9.5 (64bit) & Track 16
I don't know where or what the Windows equivalent of a Mac plist file is, but whatever it is, I'd delete the MOTU audio presence files. There may be several, I just don't know windows. Probably a restart of the machine at that point. Sounds like a corrupted preference file to me.

Thanks MIDILife:
I'm not familiar with The MOTU audio presence files, but it gives me one more thing to research. I appreciate your reaching out.

Should be here: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\MOTU\MOTU Audio System
Edit: I assume that was a typo and he meant preference files.

Hey Todd:
Thanks for the response.
I tried your step by step, deleted the one file marked something like "Pref" and rebooted. But no change.
I submitted to the MOTU TechLink in hopes that they might have some idea what's going on. Thank again.

You aren't that detailed about how you are using it but I found this in the manual in case it applies:
If you program an Track16 mixing and processing configuration that goes hand in hand with your host project, be sure to use the file save features in CueMix FX to save the Track16 settings as a file in your host project folder for instant recall of all settings. See chapter 9, “CueMix FX” (page 55) for complete details.

If it just doesn't want to behave, resetting to default may be in order:
To restore these factory settings, hold down the
MAIN and LINE OUT buttons for 2 seconds:

Re: DP9.5 (64bit) & Track 16
Hey Westlyn, sorry, I should have been more specific. You just need to delete the whole MOTU Audio System folder, DP will create a new one when you start it. Just don't empty the recycle bin until you're sure you're OK and you don't need to restore the original folder.

Just wanted to ask also if you're having similar troubles with this interface in other applications (if you use it as your main sound card that is). If so, and if deleting the MOTU Audio System Folder doesn't solve your issue, you may need to remove the interface and uninstall the drivers with Device Manager and re-install.
What version of Windows are you using BTW?

Mike:
Thanks for jumping into the conversation.
I saw that in the manual, but I didn't see how it might apply.
I did try restoring the factory settings, but nothing changed.
Todd:
Thanks for the clarification.
I did delete the whole file, but the error message persists.
I use the Track 16 with Finale and there's no conflict. It is my primary interface.

Re: DP9.5 (64bit) & Track 16
I reach out to my MOTU Nation community once again re: the above problem.
I also contacted the TechLink guys, but they haven't responded in almost a week now.
This "in an invalid or unsupported mode" message comes up whenever I open the program. It asks to "check if the device is being used by another application or Windows." I'm guessing it's used by Windows; if I play audio of any type, like my Cloud Player or a YouTube video, it's using the Track 16. But it always has.
It also won't allow me to change the sample rate to 44.1 to accommodate samples. It's stuck at 48.
Thanks again to everyone who's offered insights.

Hey Mr. Crisis:
I checked the website for any updates, especially as regards the Track 16, and I think they're all up-to-date. (One of the 1st things I did.)
I wonder if I should just delete the Track 16 program and reinstall it off the disk.
Whattya think?
