That's a great deal, the best reason to go into a Guitar Center I've heard in a long time!

Just called the Guitar Center in San Jose, and MrVideo is quite right. They're saving me a copy.
What a deal! How can they do that???

Because they're getting the new ones in (version2 ?)...at least that's what my guitar center down here says. It was only $99 until clearance. The GC here are all out of stock...The ones on order are $279...Originally posted by qo:

Yep, free upgrade to v2. I just picked it up (last one at the San Jose Guitar Center). Sometimes things that sound to good to be true really are true!

Re: MX4 at Guitar Center - $100
And here I was congratulating myself last week for getting mine for $250.
They have eight copies in San Francisco but all the other Bay Area stores are sold out.
My copy of Version Two is unwrapped but not installed yet.
Even if still wrapped, I would consider it unethical to return it just to get the discount at Guitar Centre.
But I'm surprised the free upgrade to Version Two is applicable to these blow-out copies of Version One.

Re: MX4 at Guitar Center - $100
Hi Mark,
If it's unwrapped, you could wait a bit for existing v1 stock to be sold out, and then sell your v2 on eBay or on Craig's List, etc. I'd still pickup v1 at GC. It's enough of a savings to justify it. And, I don't see anything unethical in selling your v2 at that point.
Then again, you may prefer the convenience of having v2 on it's own install disk.
I just installed and upgraded and all went without a hitch.

Just called GC and they say they're all sold out in the North Jersey / NYC area. They claim they're gonna ship one up from Maryland! (Fingers crossed)
Wish me luck & thanks for the post!

Re: MX4 at Guitar Center - $100
Thanks for the heads-up!! I have been considering MX4 since it came out, but it was always just a bit more than I wanted to spend (since I don't really NEED it). I got the last copy at GC in Austin, although there is another store here. Whatever. I'm happy.
