DP 9.12 randomly choosing 1536 buffer size
This just started within the last few weeks. So far, I've only seen this with program material at 44.1 kHz Sample Rate. I'm always at 32 Bit Float.
Something will glitch up and as I start to trouble shoot, I'll notice that my Buffer is now set to 1536 (it does not appear as a choice). Once I switch to 1024, everything seems normal again.

Re: DP 9.12 randomly choosing 1536 buffer size
Could your audio device prefs and/or DP prefs be corrupted?
Also. Some apps take over audio settings. Finale used to change the sample rate from 48 (my default since I usually score to picture) to 44 (the rate Finale liked). Other apps do the same at times and when they do it affects the system in general.
Just a starting point. I'd start by checking all related system prefs, app prefs, and trashing some/all related plists.

Thanks, MIDI Life Crisis! I'll try that. And, damn, that's still a clever name even after so many years.

Re: DP 9.12 randomly choosing 1536 buffer size
People remember the name and not my name as easily. That's OK. I just named my septet (piano, str. qt, flute & clarinet) "The Accompanists" for a silent film scoring gig on Catalina in May, and sure enough the URL was available!primeevolutionary wrote:Thanks, MIDI Life Crisis! www.TheAccompanists.com (still have to point it to a more meaningful page... LOL)
Also, after years of people checking my URL to "MidLifeCrisis" .com and sending some poor bastard (who does NOTHING with the URL but wait for someone to buy it) I realized I should have called it www.MIDI-Life-Crisis.com and sure enough, the URL was available. Snagged for a buck one-ninety-nine (as my TX brother-in-law would say).
If the suggestions don't work, keep reporting back. The collective brain that is MOTUNation will eventually figure it out.

Also have http://www.KeyboardImprovisation.com, www.KeyboardImprovisations.com, and several related urls. I'm glad we had this discussion as I checked and the forwarding wasn't working. Duh! I bought those URLs last year, also for about $3 each.primeevolutionary wrote:Pretty nifty, your URL luck!
