Up until now I haven't been at all interested in the IAC Driver and what it does. I watched some movie on YT but that didn't bring me any closer to an answer. Selecting it in the output and rec enable the track is not possible since it will create a playback loop. It should be of some use since it's a selectable output device. Or is it not?

I've used IAC to host VIs in DP and use them in Finale. That's about it for me.

I use IAC to send MIDI to MainStage/Logic VIs from DP. I then use SoundFlower to route the audio back into DP.

It does pretty much the same thing as DP's Interapplication MIDI. You can look that up in the manual. It appears on the Mac as another standard MIDI device and will do the same.

Are you saying that by using the IAC it's possible to have DP with all its VIs, mixer settings and effects playing back a Finale file?

Ok, thanks. I only looked for IAC in the manual and didn't find anything.
