conversion problem with Wizoo Magnetica - no filter or m

Post by BobK »

I just bought a sample library called 'Magnetica' from Wizoo. The CD is in EMU E-IV format. Using UVI extract, I converted two folders of presets and samples into Mach 5 format.

When I loaded presets into Mach 5 that utilize phasing, chorus, and auto-pan, they sounded the same as the dry, unaffected presets, and the modulation wheel has no effect. The Wizoo documentation says that the effects were accomplished using filters and programming parameters, NOT via the effects processors in the EMU sampler. (They did this so the library is compatible with sampler models lacking an effects processor.)

It seems that UVI extract didn't pick up anything other than basic keymaps - no filter or modulation programming. On page 102 of the Mach 5 manual, it says that all parameters are translated - 'mapping, loop, tuning, velocity, ADSR, filter, controller, LFO, etc.' But if this is so, why am I not getting any filter or modulation effects?

Am I missing something here, or is there anything else I can do?

I have Mach 5 1.2 and UVI extract 1.2, which are both current. I called MOTU tech support and they were of no help.

Hi, I think there is a problem of compatability of the filters.I have both Mach 5 and Emu E4 and some of the filters of the Emu are very different from the M5 ones.. so they can't be translated in M5 format

sorry for my english !!!!
