Just figured out a cool trick

Post by amplidood »

I've been organizing my library into separate soundbanks ie, strings, brass-winds, guitar, synths, etc... what was beginning to frustrate me was how the preset system works in Mach 5. It doesn't save the preset data with the performance or in the DP files, just links to the preset files. So if you want to tweak presets differently for different songs, you end up with a preset folder full of duplicates. So I created another folder inside each Soundbank Preset folder called Song presets (soundbank name). Now I just make a dup of a preset while I'm working on it, and move it to that folder (into another folder with the song name) when I'm done. MOTU should really make this easier, because I don't want to create full Soundbanks for every song I work on. Bye Bye drive space!!

Doesn't Kontakt allow navigation to anywhere there is a compatible instrument (as compared to MachV)? But as far as keeping track of where the samples are..?
