I've encountered a small issue with MachFive having to do with output assignment. Thought I would pass it along. I'm using M5 in DP.
In order to freeze a MachFive part into a mono track you have to temporarily change it's output assignment to a mono bundle. This works fine, as long as you change it back! If you save and close the file with MachFive's output still set to a mono bundle you will get an effect error when reopening the project (as there is not really a mono version of MachFive). If you change the output to a stereo bundle you can re-instantiate MachFive, but you will have to reload all your presets into their respective parts. (Unless you had the foresight to save a performance, which I didn't!)

p.s. I've tried other methods of freezing to a mono track and this is the only one which works reliably.

If you want to just record (vs. freeze), you can set M5s outs to a stereo bundle (i.e 1-2), hard-pan the mono preset, create a mono audio track with that side of the stereo bundle as the input (i.e. 1) and hit record.
I never use Freeze anyway (no monitoring, and no time saved, since it's a real-time process) so this has always worked very well. One benefit is that you can leave all settings on M5 and the Audio track untouched, should you want to re-print the track in question later.
