Hello All,
When working in MIDI only in Mac OSX Lion, when I attempt to copy the MIDI events from one MIDI track to another, not all of the MIDI data (on-off messages) get copied or moved between tracks. Perhaps only one or two notes per measure get copied/moved per MIDI measure. The problem has recently surfaced in DP 8.07, but was also occurred after a while in DP6 via Snow Leopard. I tried reinstalling DP 8.07, but to no avail. I am using DP8 only as a sequencer for Hauptwerk standalone via IAC, but the problem has also shown up when using DP8.07 as an audio unit host for Pianoteq.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a quick fix in, say, preference settings? Your input is appreciated.
Confused,
Joe

Sounds strange, but I'd look at your MIDI VIew Filters, Event and Global to start. Many have been tripped up over the years by inadvertent changes in these dialog boxes.

Hi HCMarkus,
Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I did check those out already, but will go back again, and make sure something stupid wasn't unchecked.
Cheers,
Joe

If they tend to be the first or last notes of your selections (the missing ones), I'd try unchecking Smart Selections.

Re: Incomplete Copying Between MIDI Tracks -- PROBLEM SOLVED
Thank you all! Problem solved.
I was able to turn on and turn off the condition, at will, when I checked the "Display Only" checkbox. Previously, I only had the Normal (display/play) checkbox clicked, and had left the display only checkbox unclicked.
Upon enabling and disabling the display only checkbox, the effect was able to be controlled at will. Thank you HCMarkus and FMiguelez for your input.
Much appreciated,
Joe

This issue has been addressed before, especially in this exhaustive and difficult thread:
http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtop ... =auto+copy
which I have read many times. I still admit to being very confused by this, as I am not at all convinced one way or another if this is a feature or a bug. If it is a feature, then I can't figure out what purpose it serves, and what the dialog selection even means. The manual isn't of much help, either.
