anyone out there running a powerbook 1.67ghz and getting about 70 mgbs of kernel task usage. Is it the track pad or what>??QQ
Powerbook 1.67Ghz 1.5GB RAM, a few waves plugs, Digital Performer 4.61, Logic Pro 7.1.1, Kontakt 1.5, Garritan Personal Orchestra, Reason 3.X, MOTU 828 mkII
Kernel threads have always been a question for me.
The fan stays on constantly when I am using DP with a G5 dual 2.7 desktop and 2.5 GB of RAM.
I've checked activity monitor while DP is running and DP is taking 106% of CPU with 25 threads (real memory 993 MB and virtual memory 1.78 GB) , kernel_task is taking 11% of CPU with 51 threads (real memory 128 MB and virtual memory 1.60 GB.)
Not sure if this is a normal reading for my system or not...
any thoughts?
thanks...
