hey all, aside from (perhaps) Macrumors.com, which Mac repair forums do you find to be knowledgeable and helpful?

MacOSHints was the only one I found consistently useful, but it is no longer active.

short version is (was!) that an older MBP with a new SSD (running 10.10.3) died. I purchased a newer MBP, thinking I'd just slap the SSD in it and off I'd go!
After putting it in the newer MBP, it wouldn't boot and would give me a slashed circle. Neither I not the supplier of the MBP had any ideas and then, after a week, I stumbled on to *this* (which turned out to be the solution!):
