Machfive 4 this year?

Post by taka »

..If their past update cycle is anything to go by, 2015 could be the year for M5-4 update, has anyone here heard anything about it? maybe at NAMM?

Thanks- Taka*

Haven't heard a thing but rumblings about inclusion in DP 9.

Only inclusion in DP9 that MOTU mentioned was MX4.

I did say "rumblings." Perhaps rumors or speculation would have been a better choice? regardless, if/when M5 gets updated, I'll be among the 1st adopters.

Where? Any idea of those origins? Just wondering if it's at all traceable to MOTU or it's just speculation from a forum. Be odd that they'd announce MX4 publicly, and the new synth VI, and then at the last minute include MachFive. If I were a betting man, I'd probably bet against that happening.

As for my comment, it was speculation in another thread here, and clearly NOT based on anything but hope. Actually, I think it was Shooshie who said "it would be nice" or something like that, and that is all I intended to imply.

I understand. I was just afraid we'd end up with some users upset if MachFive wasn't included free in the next update. It's weird how rumors spread is all. :)

This is the only place I saw any mention. Seems unlikely M5-4 would be free with DP 9. A bundled price would be nice, but with all the competitive crossgrade options for MachFive, I wonder if is anyone paid full price for it.

I'd be kind of surprised, since the basic UVI Workstation is already the "free" version.

I'm the sucka who did, Stoivo.

It was my first (and still only) plug-in purchase, either FX or VI, so no cross-grade options.

I notice much price drop, and on motu page is only machfive as upgrade. so it is possible that something new come soon.

https://www.motu.com/store_products/software/machfive
I ask at motu if it is possible to use the competition upgrade with sample tank se 3, because sample tank 3 se is around 80 Eur now and on Motu page does not stand sample tank anyversion. On kontakt stand (any version)
1. ask 2 weeks ago. 2. ask 1 week ago. But i get no answer. seem support is bad, and does not respond. anyway save me money, a demo also not here, so i did not see what i get. but 250 eur for crossgrade look ok. old price over 400 i think too high. I am happy when a version 4 come, maybe more use it and there come more support in more scripts, better arp with scene switch, articulation switch and pitchbend possible as in thesys stepseq VST. I test from UVI workstation the free violin, and i see that the load time of instrument i guess use IRCAM stretch is very slow . it count upto 40 slow 12 sec(4 core 2.8 GHZ), then 40 upto 80 it is fast. Is this same in machfive v3 ?

http://virharmonic.com/index.php?route= ... duct_id=61

If a new V4 come maybe first UVI workstation is update. sample tank do preprocess files for stretch engine. when enable stretch engine in edit, then process need 5 sec. but it is done only once. later the processed is load and same fast. maybe this is enhance in 4

All in all its not easy to decide if i should buy a machfive yet or not. I fear that nobody respond, and i never get a ok and i can not use machfive crossgrade.

It looks like you can't buy MachFive except as an upgrade, but IIRC, you've always had to buy the initial copy at a music store, and not order it from the MOTU site. I don't see anything there that heralds the arrival of V4.

And sometimes if you clench your fists, close your eyes really tight and wish really hard, MOTU caves in and updates all their apps... or not. :)
