I just bought this new hard drive today. After putting about 3 Gigs of samples on it I felt like opening every folder and scrolling through to make sure all the icons were correct. As I did this the drive made a fairly audible clicking sound. The kind of sound you might get by sticking a baseball card into bicycle spokes. Is this a bad thing for this drive, drives in general, or just something this particular drive does? Thanks for the help, this is my first external drive in a while so it just may be my inexperience.
I want to add that it's not a loud sound but I can hear it. Like it's working really hard...

I'don't own a lacie, but my maxtor has never made and sort of clicking sound, ever. and as far as I know drives (internal or esternal) should only make noises when they are damaged.
But that is as far as I know and my knowledge does not go very far.

I'm sorry I was a little harsh earlier.
First is the clicking coming from the actual drive or is it come out of the speakers when you access the drive.
Answer that and you find out more about the problem.
