I create and edit beats a lot in the Beat section of the Waveform Editor. The problem is with a lot of the themes I use, the color of the waveform is a very light blue. This light blue against the gray background is very hard to see. I would like the waveform to be solid black. Does anyone know where this change can be made?
Messing with the waveform colors and saturation settings in preferences doesn't seem to change anything in the waveform editor.
Can the waveform color in Waveform Editor be changed?

Not for the faint of heart, but if you look in the themes folder, for the theme you're using, there is a file named "style.xml". you can open this with a text editor and modify the colors. Some are just single numbers while some are RGB (r:g:b) values. Edit at your own risk.rainmaker wrote:I create and edit beats a lot in the Beat section of the Waveform Editor. Something I found helpful is to sample the color of what you want to change with DigitalColor Meter (Applications>Utilities) and get the exact RGB value and then search for that value in the 'style.xml' file. Sometimes helps, sometimes not so much if it's a commonly used color.cleamon wrote: Not for the faint of heart, but if you look in the themes folder, for the theme you're using, there is a file named "style.xml". you can open this with a text editor and modify the colors. Edit a copy of that file, of course.cleamon wrote:Not for the faint of heart, but if you look in the themes folder, for the theme you're using, there is a file named "style.xml". you can open this with a text editor and modify the colors. Somewhere there is a guide to what those things all do. It's probably not something you'll find online, but one of our members (or more) might have a copy. AmpGUI made it many years ago. I wish I had a copy.
And finally, there are many elements of the GUI that cannot be changed in that Style sheet. They are programmed in code, so there's no getting to them. That may be one of them, and in fact, I MAY remember that being the subject of a discussion long ago in the lengthy AmpGUI themes thread (one of the longest on-topic threads ever developed in this forum).
Then, of course, you may just put electrical tape on your screen. Blackens those backgrounds right out! [sorry; couldn't resist. Need more coffee!]
