Refurbished Mac
I'm Planning coming back to the mac platform (I bought my first and last mac in '93 and eventually moved to windows over the years. I'm thinking about DP 4.5 and buying a refurbished iMac G5 from Apple. I'm not usually one for buying used/refurbished stuff, but going with the new software and firewire interface, the cost will add up quickly.
Has anyone purchased a refurb from apple? I'd like to hear others opinions
thanks

I have a refurb powerbook that has had no probs at all in the 6 months that I've owned it. buy the applecare plan just in case though.
Re: Refurbished Mac
I have purchased 3 used Mac's:
8500, 9500. G4 and upgraded them with Sonnet cards, RAM, and hard drives.
I purchased them from a local PC/Mac repair guy and he also upgraded them. The purchase/upgrading costs were very reasonable.
The prices at Apple's retail store for "used" Mac's are really outrageous. Also Apple's tech/repair/shop rates are extremely unreasonable.

Re: Refurbished Mac
I purchased, from smalldog.com a refurb g4 dual gig, almost 3 yrs. ago and had no problems. That is since going to 10.3+. The accumulation of old software and updates is a major pain in the ass!
