Quick way to isolate headphones?

Post by OldMacTech »

MKiii hybrid
Mac Mini Core i5
Logic Pro X

Is there a button sequence other than cranking the button to mute the main output so as to isolate headphones. Partly because it bugs me to have to crank the button up and down, partly because the more times you wind it up and down the more likely it will wear out over time.

Can't find anything in the manual.

No. This is why MOTU isn't really that great for monitoring beyond one set of drivers. No mute, dim, speaker selector... You need an external monitor controller, or at least a volume pot on your mains.

There's a work flow method where you put a submaster (aux) in front of the master and route everything through that and then to the master. Put a send on that submaster aux for your phones. Then you can pull down the master without effecting the phones and never touch the hardware.
