can DP7 reproduce TC-2290 ducking reverb?!

Post by 4leafplanet »

I'm trying to re-create a vocal passage made by a TC-2290
ducking delay & it has me stymied. I'm using DP7's Dynamics Compressor and its not the sound. It isn't in the tone or phase, definitely repeats.

Would anyone know if TC's Dynamic Delay strictly depressed the delay
signal? Or if there is also some sort of suppression of what is sent thru the delay module in relation to whats happening at the 2290 input? (Almost as some sort of riding the echo send.) Because it sounds like the tails coming out aren't just coming back in, but also don't have the entire program material from earlier in the line.

It's unclear to me whether its just the dynamics of the singing or if the TC is also affecting the front of the signal... or even shortening delay feedback in relation to input gain. Such as: sing soft get one repeat, sing hard get 4 repeats.

Also, a comment from a forum while looking for info i came across the following which didn't make sense to me "you can duck the feedback on the 2290 delay, which is more useful to me than just ducking the level of the delay."

If anyone has had experience with a 2290 i would very much appreciate any light shed on this...

Cheers,
