DP Control stopped working in DP 7.24
DP Control has stopped working for me in DP 7.24. When I go to the setup/control surface/add controller, the only choice it gives me is "Eucon". Touch Osc is no longer an option. How can I fix this? I'm on a 2012 Macbook Pro (2.7 ghz) with 8 GB ram and 480 GB SSD, running Mavericks 10.9.1.
Touch Osc and DP control are running ok in DP 8.05 on the same computer, but I need to use DP 7.24 and DP Control live in concert because DV Firewire output works in that version.

Re: DP Control stopped working in DP 7.24
It's easy to fix.
DP7.24 requires different control surface items.
When you install DP8, it removes the DP7 items.
My workaround is to keep two folders... one with the DP7 items and one with the DP8 items.
I drag the correct set to the MOTU Control Surface folder before launching DP.
It works fine.
Kind of a PITA, but it enables all of the functionality.
Hope this helps.

Re: DP Control stopped working in DP 7.24
Thanks for the info! I'm having a hard time locating the Motu Control Surface folder. Do you know where it is kept? Do I need to re-install DP 7.24 to get the right items back in it so I can move them to a separate folder? Thanks again for your help.

Re: DP Control stopped working in DP 7.24
Hi Doug,
The folder can be found in Library/Audio/Plugins/MOTU Control Surface.
I was able to get the old items from a Time Machine backup.
You could re-install DP7 to get them back.
Just be sure to save the DP8 items somewhere before you install DP7.
I use an alias of the MOTU Control Surface folder on the desktop so I can quickly drag in whatever set I need.
Hope it works for you.

Re: DP Control stopped working in DP 7.24
Hi, Waterstrum!
When I look in Library/Audio/Plugins, there is no MOTU Control Surface file. There are 4 folders: "Components, Digidesign, MAS, and VST". When I open the MAS folder, it is empty. (I'm on Mavericks 10.9.1 - Maybe things are different?) In fact, I've searched my whole computer and can't find a file with the words "control surface" in it....very puzzling.
However, I went ahead and re-installed DP 7.24, and now Touch Osc is once again a choosable option in DP's control surface setup menu. I suppose, however, that I've messed up DP 8.05 again. I don't mind so much at the moment, as I need DP 7.24 to use live on stage in about 12 days. However, when I get home again after that gig, I would like to get to the bottom of this so both DP versions will work right with DP Control.
Thanks for all your help and let me know if you have any suggestions.

Thanks, Cuttime!
I found it! I was looking in the User/Library, not the Macintosh HardDrive/Library. I'm baffled as to why my finder search won't pull up the folder....It often seems to have a hard time finding things....I have to go manually searching for them. Is there some way to "re-index" my hard drive so the Finder can find things better?

Never mind...
I Googled and found out how to force OSX to re-index my hard drive.
