Ok, well not all the time. I just downloaded and installed the latest 64-bit
versions of PSP's Stereo Pack and MixPack2. Here's the scenario in DP 8.04, 64-bit -
Place a PSP MixPack or Stereo Pack plug-in on a mono track insert.
Double click to open the plug's GUI.
From within the GUI, you'll see the DP plug-in selection window above it, click on that to select a new PSP plug. Select the new one you want.
Instant crash.
If you place a PSP plug on a track insert, then delete it, and then place a new PSP plug on that same insert, no crash.
I've sent the bug report to MOTU and also to PSP audioware.
If anyone else could try this scenario and confirm whether you get the same
result, that would be great.

Re: PSP MixPack2 and StereoPack2 crashes in DP 8.04
I had it happen the very first time I tried it, but now I can't duplicate it. I was trying to figure out if it was a mono or a mono-to-stereo version that caused the problem and I couldn't get it to happen again after that no matter what I chose.
