iZotope RX2

Is anybody successfully using RX2 with DP 8.02? Or even DP 8.03?

I`m just getting the SBBD...

All RX2 plug-ins worked for me with DP 8.01, although I had to use the RX 2.02 build for Spectral Repair to work properly. (I haven`t tried 2.10 with DP 8.02 yet).

Yes. No problem in DP 8.04 either.

Not understanding why you wouldn't use the latest version of RX 2.

I wasn`t using the latest version of RX2 because it is V 2.10 from July 2012.

When I installed this version under DP 8.01, RX2 V 2.10 Spectral Repair didn`t work when opening from DP. The other RX2 components worked fine.

iZotope confirmed this bug and told me to go back to RX2 V2.02, which I did and everything worked fine (until I installed DP 8.02).

I`ll install DP 8.04 and RX2 2.10 and try again.

I found the problem, RX2 crashes when DP has a movie opened.

I installed DP 8.04 and installed RX2 2.10. After clearing the movie from DP, the RX2 plug-ins work correctly. With the movie opened it is SBBD time.

However RX 2.10 cannot run Spectral repair correctly when opened from DP. This is the same bug as before and the DP upgrades have made no difference as the bug is iZotope`s.

iZotope has not updated the version for nearly a year. They know about the bug so perhaps one day they will sort it out. Meanwhile it is back to RX2 2.02 for me...

Just to be clear it's meant to used from the apply plug-in the Audio menu. Your transport would not be running during this execution. I had the movie window open and never had a crash while using iZotope

Yeah, I know that Spectral repair does not function as a normal plug-in. However, you still use DP's preview button to audition changes, although you don't use DP's transport.

The other RX2 plug-ins do work as normal plug-ins, perhaps my movie (249 MB) is too heavy for RX2? I have found iZotope very CPU intensive...

I had them as inserts and found that the results were not as good. Strictly opinion. You have more control attacking each passage at a time.

Rx 2 is CPU heavy, true. I run the noise reduction plugin by itself first. Makes sense to clean up the file before doing else, right? Once I am satisfied, I close the GUI never to open it again. It's the open window that causes the problems, not the processing of the plugin behind the scenes.

My big issue with Izotope is that older DP projects do not retain their Izotope settings when opened in DP 8. This is true for Rx 2, Ozone 5 and the others I use. I haven't figured this one out but I've not really investigated it either.
