New 8.03 “Bounce” Folder tricked me?
I am finding myself not a big fan of DP 8.02 and above, defaulting to and creating a SEPARATE folder called “bounce” for files made using bounce to disk.
This ASSUMES all bounces are for some SEPARATE purpose such as a mix, etc.
I have MY OWN organizing system and this new feature of DP adds yet another folder for me to have to incrementally back up.
For example, I use BTD to burn in Antares auto tune, so, I want the audio to go to the MIAN audio folder, not some separate folder. Now I have a bunch of pieces of my lead vocal in another folder, this to me is risky and unnecessary.
I didn;t see this new folder for awhile and was pretty surprised to see it.
I want all audio to go to the AUDIO folder and that all, not TWO folders, which increases complexity and the possibility of error.
So be careful everyone as you may lose audio if you are not looking out for this.

I LOVE the new bounce folder. Just me, I guess. If I want to bounce to anywhere else I tell the dialogue box that. It does take 2.164 seconds but it stays set for the duration of the session.

It might be nicer to have this as a preference.MIDI Life Crisis wrote:I LOVE the new bounce folder. Just me, I guess. If I want to bounce to anywhere else I tell the dialogue box that. It does take 2.164 seconds but it stays set for the duration of the session.
I am glad you like it. But it tricked me and now I have a bunch of lead vocal where I did not expect it, something which is not a welcome “surprise"

Re: New 8.03 “Bounce” Folder tricked me?
The Bounce folder is something you see in Logic, and probably other DAWs. I like it... all the versions of project bounce are in one place, in the project folder, without me having to think about it, and when I archive the project, all the variations of mixes go with it, no jacket required. I will still some times create anew folder for final mixes, but as MLC points out, it takes 2.1 seconds and that new fold remains the default until I change it again.
And, isn't that what you had to do BEFORE the Bounce folder existed? I mean, yor not keeping everything you bounce out of ever project in the Documents folder, right?

Re: New 8.03 “Bounce” Folder tricked me?
I don't like the idea of One Folder to Rule Them All. I do a lot of bounces for clients and like being able to find those fast. If I'm bouncing for project use, it's in the project format and I choose "Add to Soundbites" and sometimes "to sequence."
The real question is why is it "Add to Sequence" and "Create New Sequence" but not "Add to Chunk" or "Create New Chunk?"
Maybe it's time to chuck the chunks? That makes me Chuckle...

I am liking the Bounce Folder. It has saved me at least 2.1 seconds so far.

Re: New 8.03 “Bounce” Folder tricked me?
I really like the bounce folder. I only use BTD for mixes and I hated having them end up in the audio folder when I forgot to specify a path.
What threw me off was the autosaves going into a folder.
