I have MachFive 3 (latest update), and also had MachFive 2. I'm finding that a few of the sounds that came with the v. 2 libraries won't load for me. A specific one as an example:
MachFive 2DVD4-VSL_Orch -> 01 Violin ensemble -> 01 Standard Instruments -> Violin ens 14 (all).m5p. I can load any of the other violin ensembles from the Standard Instruments subfolder except this one and Violin ens 14 (sustain).m5p. I have similar issues with files from other subfolders.

I've tried it as both a standalone and in DP8, and I've reinstalled the library.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

The first things I'd try are to check permissions and ownership.

Go to MF3's root folder and get it's info window. Set the permissions for your account to read/write, and make sure you make them apply to all enclosed files/folders.

For the ownership, you could go to the HD's root and click "ignore ownership in this volume".

Does that make a difference?

Thanks for the suggestion FM. I actually had it that way already. The odd thing is that most of the samples in that library will load, it's just a few of them.

Same here. I tried that patch and it didn't work. Looks like it's loading but the samples are MIA.

When you select one of the samples that loads, the little status bar window opens for a few seconds as it chugs along loading the samples, but with this one, that little window is only open for about 100ms. Sounds like it might be a reproducible problem. Thanks for checking!

I've submitted a TechLink on this.

I was able to open them in M5-2 but not save them (probably since I'm on ML). The samples are there, but M5-3 isn't seeing them. I also had to launch DP8 in 32 bit (heavens to Murgatroyd!) to access M5-2 but it seems less than fully functional. Still, as you indicated, some of the sounds load from the same bank. Weird.

Interesting stuff. I'm in the process of saving certain certain 'presets with samples' in Mach Five 2, so I can (in turn) load them into Mach Five 3. Reason being that Mach Five 2 will still read the presets from Mach Five One, which I've had for almost 10 years. We'll see what happens.
