MOTU Ultralite disconnects in new iMac

After a few weeks with a new 2013 iMac and MOTU Ultralite connected thru thunderbolt adapter, the setup seems to be fairly unstable.
Randomly, after 20 or 30 min of normal use sound stops suddenly for a brief instant. Sometimes the interface disconnects and I have to switch off/on to work again. Sometimes Ableton Live lose their Audio/MIDI preferences.

Connected to a firewire port in a Macbook pro with Snow Leopard works like a charm...

So, I suspect is a Mountain Lion or thunderbolt/firewire adapter problem, any similar experiences?
