I launched a template file that loads only a few plug-ins like Synthogy's Ivory II and Kontakt 3 and get a pop up warning that memory is low. Then I opened a song that uses tons of plug-ins and it played fine with no pop up memory low message warning. I tried to bounce a small portion of the song and it bounced fine and then after bouncing I go the pop up menu again! What's going on? I have 14 GB of RAM. I am using a Dual Core Intel Xenon tower (2 X 2.66 GHz CPU). I have tons of room on my internal HD. Is there a way to increase DP's memory or is this a bug I should just ignore?

Re: Low Memory Message Using DP 8
For starters, I'd recommend getting the free Kontakt 5 Player, which might help.
Can you boot your machine in 64-bit mode? If so, all of your plugins would have to be 64-bit-compatible. If they're not, there are things like JBridge and Vienna Ensemble which will allow you to use your 32-bit plugins in 64-bit mode (because DP8 won't even see a 32-bit plugin without them).
32-bit mode is what we've always used since day 1. The technical memory brick wall is 4GB of RAM (with the help of Virtual Memory). The more realistic limit is closer to 2.5-3GB RAM. 64-bit mode basically allows access to up to some 16 EXABYTES of RAM--- or up to the total RAM you have installed. 1 exabyte = 1,073,741,824 gigabytes. Imagine that number now being 16 times bigger!! That's what 64-bit memory addressing has to offer in the way of a very real solution to the memory limit conundrum.
If your computer does not boot the 64-bit kernel, I would recommend running Kontakt 5 Player in standalone mode. That itself will take much of the load off of DP's 2.5-3GB limit by claiming a separate memory address space of its own. Even here, something like Vienna Ensemble would allow you to load up numerous instances of Kontakt or just about any VI outside of DP. You'd still need to keep an eye on your memory usage via Virtual Memory, but that error message should go away with 14GB of RAM available.
THIS might also help.
