Adjusting color in a theme

Post by Tripi »

I'm using the Plasma theme in DP8.01, and I've already adjusted some of the graphics to be different colors. They work great, but I can't seem to find a way to change the color of the grid lines. Specifically, the grid lines in the sequence editor view. If I increase and decrease the grid spacing, I can barely see a faint blue line moving... but it's almost invisible against the color of the background. Does anyone know how to adjust the color of this line in the xml file for a DP theme?

thanks!

Yow! That's something MOTU should have fixed for that theme. Andy probably knows what to do about that, but I think he's on the road right now, and he may not read this. I'll drop him an email and see if he can find a moment to look at your post.

Meanwhile, Unless Plasma is just "perfect" in all other respects, you might try None More Black. It isn't as pretty as Plasma, but it's at least as dark, and you can see the gridlines.

Its not too difficult - you have to look at the Default_Style.xlms file and open it in text edit. There doesn't seem to be a DP8 version of this theme anymore since the update - in a DP8 theme it is the Style.xlms file. What lines do you mean? The vertical blue line or the horizontal grey?

The vertical blue lines. The ones you see in sequencer view.

Okay - open the Package Contents of the theme and open up the Style.xml file in text edit and search for:

<TEXT name="kContentBackgroundLine">48:81:104</TEXT>

Change the 3 red Green Blue numbers to different colours with 255 being white and 0 being black - it works I just tried it in Plasma.

Appreciate the help. That definitely changes the color of the vertical bar lines, but the one I'm really after is the color of the grid lines. They usually correspond to the grid spacing in the upper right of the sequencer window. As you decrease the grid, you should see the lines get closer together. I've tried a bunch of random lines in the xml file without any luck. Any thoughts?

thanks!

That is a tough one I am afraid - the grid line is the same color in all themes and seems hardwired into DP - I could never find a way - I am not even sure if Ampguimods Andy can change this one.
