DP 8.01 - wiper disappears when selecting chunks

Post by David Polich »

Someone has probably posted elsewhere about this, I just couldn't find it.
Anyway, in DP 8.01, in a project with multiple chunks within the same project,
selecting chunks from within the Chunks window results in the wiper disappearing.
I've tested this multiple times and confirmed (at least here) that it is a
repeatable bug.

In 7.24 this does not happen. Can anyone else confirm this before I send
a bug report to MOTU?

Yes. Selecting any editing window should bring it back.

Do send a bug report. I sent them this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmTSpOof0YY
but I don't know if it really reached them. You're welcome to link them to it. It's kind of long, because I was discovering the problem and the workaround all while filming it. This bug is related to a lot of things, btw.

So I predict that DP 8.1 will be released with the Windows version and it will fix some of these bugs we're seeing. Maybe for Christmas and for extra measure they'll throw in a noise reduction plugin?!

Oh please, oh please, oh please....!!!!

Happening here too. Starting DP again usually fixes it, sometimes dragging in the timeline or switching edit windows does too, but not always.

Also, if you have a sequence with "Link Selection to Memory" and "Link Playback to Memory" both activated, the wiper will only appear when the transport is in motion. I don't know whether that is new to DP 8.

Update - I opened a techlink to MOTU tech support about this issue, and
Lorne from tech support responded in about six minutes, saying that MOTU
is aware of the issue and are looking into it.
