Why is the default sampling mode Stretch?

Post by digaldeman »

Whenever I drag a drum sample into MachFive 3, it changes the sample mode to Stretch or sometimes Slice. I want to keep it in regular Sample mode while I preview my drum sounds.

Just use the inline browser to preview your samples in that case.
On the left panel, the Tab called Browser.

I'd still like to know, if anyone knows, **why** "Stretch" is the default sampling mode. I don't like this because I'd like to hear my original, unprocessed sample when I first drop it in. "Stretch" can produce a lot of artifacts; it's kind of annoying to have to be changing it back to "Sample" all the time.

Because you have DnD on the Part itself not on the mapping view.
Usually people do this in case of loops not single shot which explains the default behavior
