I am confounded by how complicated it is to have windows audio as an input on the MKIII.
Currently I have set different applications (music, skype, other apps) to different buses in Windows. So Skype is running on Bus 3-4, Music on Bus 5-6 etc.
But this is not registered on the Motu as Input?? It is only registered as output.
I run a WebTV show and when we are live I need to use the "live"-mix and when we are on a break I use the "pause"-mix. Which means that in order to have the windows applications register as an input I can assign properties in the various mixes I have to use Jack patchcables on the back. So every output except my prepared output has a jack from output to input.
This seems like a very bad way to do it. It works, but it seems silly that such advanced hardware cannot loopback outputs to it's own input without using a cable?
Btw my final product (sound) is returned to my WebTV streaming software by using Return 1-2. That way I don't capture windows sound on top of my mixed audio output.
Any tips? I am indeed a noob and it took me a while to figure this stuff out. As a webdeveloper I usually groan when I see people operating computers in clumsy ways. I suspect this applies to me right now
