I recently installed DP8 on my new Macbook Air. At first I was a bit confused and found some posts that suggested buying a USB drive to install the program.
Here's what I did...
Using another computer that had and optical drive, I made a Disc Image of the DP8 install disk, using the standard OS X Disk Utility. I imported the Disk Image via a thumbdrive to my MacBook Air and mounted the Disc Image with Toast.
The program installed and authorized with no problem, as if there was an Optical Drive in my Macbook Air

Re: Install DP8 on a NO Optical Drive / DVD / Superdrive lap
Maybe because you have to register online there's no use for DP8 to look for a physical DVD...

Except that you don't need the disk to authorize DP 8...Allen Wrench wrote:I recently installed DP8 on my new Macbook Air. At first I was a bit confused and found some posts that suggested buying a USB drive to install the program.

Now, if that works with DP 7.24, that would be interesting.
