Presets for DP 8 Ensemble Chorus?
I'm in day two with DP 8. There aren't any presets in the drop down mini menu for the Ensemble Chorus. I would think for this particular plugin there would be. Anyone confirm or have a solution?
Thanks Much,
Martin

I don't see presets for most plugs from MOTU. Maybe they didn't have them developed?

No presets in the NEW plugs in DP8. Confirmed by MOTU and Magic Dave. We may see some in the future, but no definite word yet.

Just upgraded to DP8 and was wondering why there are no "presets" for the Ensemble Chorus - Now I know - There aren't any. Darn! Whats up with that?

Well, it's not hard to make some of your own. Pretty simple - it's a chorus.dpg4macman wrote:Just upgraded to DP8 and was wondering why there are no "presets" for the Ensemble Chorus - Now I know - There aren't any. Darn! Whats up with that?

Re: Presets for DP 8 Ensemble Chorus?
Yet it is much faster just to include at least some various presets as starting points. It's not just the chorus - the spatial enhancer, proverb etc very very few or 0 presets. In this day and age it's nuts. My 80s Roland and Yamaha reverb/choruses came with tons of presets and now here we are 25 years later building from scratch? Along with arranging, composing, performing, engineering etc. it would really save time to have some presets. In some projects there is time for tinkering but on some you just need to grab and go.David Polich wrote:Well, it's not hard to make some of your own. Is there a place to download user presets for the community here? I would not mind contributing. The problem SHOULD be "too many presets to choose from - can't make up my mind!" not this nonsense.

So... does the lack of response say that most of you here are fine to get new plugs with zero presets?zandurian wrote:Yet it is much faster just to include at least some various presets as starting points. I would like to see some presets. Is there anyway that we can share our presets?zandurian wrote:So... does the lack of response say that most of you here are fine to get new plugs with zero presets?
That would be a start.
I only have a couple for the new plugs, but I wouldn't mind sharing.
Cheers,

Therefore, physics is nothing but the laws of harmony of these strings. Chemistry is nothing but the melodies we can play on these strings. The universe is a symphony of strings and the mind of God… it is cosmic music resonating through 11 dimensional hyperspace.

My channel-strip presets still work, and those are the main things I use now. They set each plugin's parameters in addition to loading the plugins I want on a channel strip.zandurian wrote:So... does the lack of response say that most of you here are fine to get new plugs with zero presets?
But yes, it was a bummer not to see our old presets on most of our plugins.

Re: Presets for DP 8 Ensemble Chorus?
At least I can go to my old songs and re-save a few that I really worked hard on, some sonic modulator stuff and such but my main complaint is new plugs (spatial enhancer for instance) with no presets at all. Of course 99.999 percent of the time something will get tweaked a bit but having a few dozen presets is great just to get the feel of what a new plug sounds like and as starting points. I know I seem extreme in my opinions sometimes but certain things are so clearly absurd.Shooshie wrote:My channel-strip presets still work, and those are the main things I use now. Sure - the old polymoogs were cool but dang if that new fangled memory Moog didn't save us HOURS of messing around and at least we could get something close (instantly) before tweaking to perfection. That breakthrough was 32 years ago! But at least with the preset-less polymoog I could reach up and grab a bunch of knobs at once!

I was hoping I was just missing something. Sorry for such a polarized rant but this is just crazy nuts insane.
Is there a way us users can post presets f or the community here?

That may be true however after tweaking around with this thing a few times I was still having problems coming up with any usable settings so I put it away and called up another chorus with presets. Just sayin'

Re: Presets for DP 8 Ensemble Chorus?
To me - releasing these new plugs with no presets (not so much the chorus but some of the more complex ones) is almost like developing a new synthesizer and taking it to market with no presets and saying "look at this cool new keyboard - you can program a bunch of your own sounds". No one does that. I understand all plugs are program dependent and tweaking will occur but sheeesh!dpg4macman wrote:Just upgraded to DP8 and was wondering why there are no "presets" for the Ensemble Chorus - Now I know - There aren't any. Okay - I guess I'm done ranting about this. I guess I'm just lazy.

There were supposed to be presets with the .01 release. I guess they're too busy for us regular users.

I just ran across this post. Yes, you are not alone. I would also like some presets to start from.
