Problems with loading Xtreme FX DVD's

Post by ModularV »

Hi,

New here and sad to say my first post is about a problem.

I just got Mach 5 V3 yesterday (took a while to get iLok to work, but got there in the end) and the program itself is all good.
I do however, have a problem in getting the Xtreme FX discs to copy over to my hard disc. Both discs fail on reading after about 20 minutes or so. I've tried 3 different optical readers with the same result. I've checked the discs for scratches (none obvious) and cleaned both discs and tried to read again, same results.

Is this a known problem ?

Also, is there anywhere I can download the 2 files instead (can't seem to find any file downloads on either Motu or Extreme FX sites).

Thanks for any replies...

There is a thread on here about that and you might have bad discs. I'd try making a DMG of the discs and using that. They're big so it'll take a while. You might call MOTU as well but search that section of the forum. It is a known issue.

BTW, it'll be worth it. It's a very cool library.

Thanks for the info.

I'm on a Windows 7 PC, so a DMG is out.

I'll search for the other post in the forum and contact Motu (by email as I'm in the UK and it would be too much to phone).

I've got the same problems. I contacted the nearest distributor and they asked me to send the faulty dvd's to them and they will replace them. Let's see what happens...

...and I got the replacements today and I have been able to copy them without problems, so I'm a happy person now :D
