MOTU 828 frozen...

Hello,
I just found this site. Was wondering if anyone might have some advice for how to solve my MOTU problem.
For no apparent reason, my 828MK2 stopped showing up in audio preferences on my Mac (10.4). I tried a different firewire cable, tried reinstalling factory settings on the MOtu and I installed the drivers again. Still no luck. The MOTU is frozen on the CueMixDSP screen. WHen I remove the firewire cable, the MOTU seems to function.
Any tips? I would be forever grateful.
