urgent problem with new 828mk3

Just got the 828mk3. Everything was fine with the mk2, but I can get no sound output with the mk 3.

To trouble shoot I have only connected 1 module into channels 1 and 2. I have it playing auto demo songs. On the front panel I can see the green less flashing for that channel.

In the new Cuemix if I click the meters tab on the right I can see the same thing.

However, nothing is going to the powered monitors or the head phones.

I have a mono voice over track in DP and if I set the track output to Main Out I can hear the track. So the speaker connection is not a problem.

Any ideas appreciated

In MOTU Audio Setup, check your selection for default stereo output and phones assign. That might be it.

Thanks for the suggestion. Actually it turned out to be the Cuemix Mixes tab which needed to be set to Main Output. But there is something I don't understand. Maybe some one can explain:

In the MOTU Audio Setup application, the default stereo output must be Analog 1-2. But why not Main Out 1-2? Especially since the powered monitors are connected to Main Out on the back of the 828mk3. Also, in cuemix, in the mixes tab, I have bus 1 at the end and this needs to be set to Main Out 1-2. So this does not make sense to me.

That wasn't my experience. In the MOTU setup, I've always seen the Main Outs as the default.

But most applications default to Analog 1-2, probably because they are the first two outputs presented by the device in CoreAudio, while Main shows up as outputs 9 and 10.

It would be great to be able to reorder them so it is not necessary to go into every new apps preferences and reset audio outputs.
