I am hoping someone can identify some of the issues that are happening with my MKIII Hybrid. I have it connected via firewire to a Mac Pro Dual 1.8ghz intel (Early 2008)running the latest update of Ableton Live recording at 48khz. Currently I am only running a stereo keyboard into analog inputs 1-2 and a Moog Little Phatty into input 3. Using KRK Rocket 8 monitors out the main XLR outputs.
Everything will be working fine, then all of a sudden at random points the entire audio (both playback from the DAW and direct sound monitoring from the keyboard) will go to a higher pitch, almost like speeding up an analog tape without actually changing the tempo. I can fix this by turning off the interface and turning it back on. One time it happened I noticed when I switched sample rates back and forth it also cleared the problem.
2nd issue I am having is three times now while recording the interface suddenly pops, all of the lights turn on on the front panel, and I have a constant hiss coming out of my monitor speakers. Again, I turn the interface off, turn it back on and things are as normal.
Now today, I was just listening to some stuff I had recorded playing it back through iTunes, and I noticed the sample rate light was flashing at 44.1 as though it was trying to set itself but couldn't lock in. I did not have any problems with the audio playback but found it kind of odd.
Do I have a defective unit or is there something I am missing here?
Thank you!

Have you tried USB to see if the same problem occurs?
