Are you thinking about getting MachFive 3?
Do you already own MachFive 3 and want to learn more about it?
Come join Matt LaPoint from MOTU for a MachFive 3 clinic at West LA Music in West Los Angeles on October 6th from 7-9 PM. Matt will be joined by LA-based composer Eric Colvin, who will be demonstrating how he uses MachFive 3 instruments and sounds, as well as popular 3rd-party sound libraries imported into MachFive, to build film cues. Hear MachFive's new scripted instruments first hand and learn about MachFive's powerful synth engine and editing capabilities.
MachFive competitive upgrades will be available for purchase for those who own qualifying competing samplers. See the list here:

Just RSVP'd. Cool! Thanks.
Any pancake houses nearby? Actually, a great Italian restaurant a few blocks west of there. Maybe I'll bring some digestion sound samples... j/k
Thanks Dave. Loving MachFive 3.

Re: MachFive 3 clinic at West LA Music on October 6, 2011
This was a fantastic presentation. MOTU gave away two copies of MachFive 3 in a raffle (skunked again!). Having used the VI for a couple of weeks now, I was really pleased to learn of few tricks and some different applications for it.
Matt is a great presenter, in fact, it was his pitch at West LA Music a "few" years ago that sold me on the original version when it came out.
One big take away for me (and I hope I don't get Matt in any trouble by saying so) is that MOTU plans on supporting the new version much more than they did the previous two. Clearly, a lot went into this and it seems to be light years ahead of other samplers. Really much more than a sampler, IMO. More like a first generation CSP (Comprehensive Signal Processor - I made that up). I think it will be very popular once word gets out on how powerful it is and I hope it makes a lot of money for MOTU so they can pay those poor programmers to make DP 64 bit soon.
Also, Telematic is much less cryptic now that I understand how it actually works.
Thanks for the heads up, Dave. I probably wouldn't have known about it otherwise and really got to look under the hood. No question went unanswered and several of the guy there talking about how they are already starting to think about their scoring in a new way while others wanted to see more YouTube videos.
