Thanks guys. It is a good price based on what I've seen. It comes loaded with all sorts of stuff but of course, I'll trash it all and format the drive unless he has the discs. Picking it up at 2 today....

:woohoo:

Hey bd., thanks, I'm already on the machine but won't make the big move to my production space until I'm passed my current projects - but it sure is tempting.

Yeah, more RAM for sure. Have so much to learn about 64 bit now and booting into what, etc.

BTW, he under advertised as he included 2 extra drives (500 & 750 GB each) and even though he included all his properly licensed software and plugs (pretty much everything you can possibly imagine and then some) I will still go with my simple setup on the new machine. Needless to say I'm feeling very lucky. I was holding out for a new Mac but could never snag a new 8 core 3.6, regardless of what they come out with and how they price it.

But it's off here and back to the G5 so I can make some more wampum. So far, all I can say is sweet.

Opinions on a used MacPro.

Coming from you, MLC, that is one loaded question.

When buying a used anything--- make sure you know where it's been and with whom it has been!! Otherwise, you'll be making music with everyone else who has used that machine.

A service warranty is highly recommended.
