Hi
I'm busy configuring a DP system on a new iMac 27" i7 3.4ghz.
I will be running the DP project audio off of an external 2TB FW drive (G-Drive).
This system is an experiment for me as I have been used to G5s&Mac Pros in the past where I could install on multiple internal drives.
Question is - where on the system would one install all the virtual instruments - on the iMac system drive or on the external audio FW drive? Or should I use a second external FW drive just for instruments? Unfortunately, Thunderbolt is not happening yet as an option.
The VI's are all the usual stuff - Komplete, Spectrasonics x3, Miroslav, Reason etc
Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this.

Re: DP + Komplete on iMac
I'm running DP on an older 24" iMac 3.02Ghz. DP runs on the internal drive, samples are on a dedicated FW800 drive. Works well enough, though I should say that I work track by track e.g. just a few instruments/"instances" at a time -- no massive setups going on.
Initially I made the mistake of having DP AND my sample libraries on the same internal/boot drive. Killed the drive. Kaput.
