MOTU Ultralitemk3 Hybrid Audio Interf. shut down ext. HD

Hello everyone!

I bought the MOTU Ultralitemk3 Hybrid Audio Interface and installed the drivers from the disc. The Audio Interface is connected via Firewire 400 with my MacBookPro4,1 and on the Firewire 800 I connected my external Western Digital MyBook 1TB HD. Everytime I shut down the Audio Interface, the external HD is shuting down without unmounting the drive. This should not happen! Has any one a solution for this, this is really annoying me.
