I just ran software update, and there is a system update. Haven't installed it yet, or looked for a combo update. I'll update this post if/when I find one.

First oddity with 10.6.7: it killed my home wireless network. Same settings, same everything on all machines. "Connection Failed" all around.

Thanks, Frodo-- good to know. I hadn't pulled the trigger yet. I think I'll wait a bit.

My computer is on Ethernet and it asked me to set up my net connection, strange. I have not opened DP or much today so I hope all is well.

My main computer is also on an ethernet cable, although it is routed through the Airport Extreme that creates my wireless network. There was no interruption of that signal, but other computers on the network could not immediately connect wirelessly. I had to reboot all the Airport Extremes and Expresses that are part of the network. After doing that, everything worked fine.

Power cycling all devices helped sustain an on-again-off-again internet connection which had required some prodding with Network Preferences to stay afloat.
But-- I'm still baffled by not being able to restore remote access among machines.
