Error When Copying Audio to Sequence
I keep getting an error that reads:
MacOS error: Unexpected error (-2015)
when attempting to copy the audio of the movie I'm working with to the sequence. I looked the code up here and it said "error -2015 invalidTime."
I've definitely dickied with the "Set Chunk Start" and "Set Movie Start" time, but neither of those things should prohibit me from copying a movie's audio, right?
I'd appreciate any thoughts y'all have on this.
Thanks!
Joel

Just a guess, but it could be a corrupted file. Have you tried playing the audio in another app? QuickTime, for example. If it plays there, you could try an export to another file. Just thinking out loud.

Phil,
Interestingly enough, I spent a while on this problem yesterday and it turns out that Quicktime and Vimeo don't get along very well.
This page offers a couple of work-arounds, but neither did it for me.

Have you tried VLC? I know it's got something called Export Wizard, but I've never used it.

Re: Error When Copying Audio to Sequence
I did try VLC, but it didn't do it for me.
I did end up getting it to work by trimming a frame or two off of the beginning in Quicktime.
What a weird problem!

Re: Error When Copying Audio to Sequence
If you're trying to play a Vimeo file, you are not playing an actual Quicktime file. I believe Vimeo is flash based, but certainly not a standard for desktop use.
If you have Quicktime pro you might export the audio to another format DP can read. If your client is distributing files to you on Vimeo, you might want them to provide an actual quicktime movie.

MIDI: The problem comes when trying to play a Vimeo movie that has been downloaded and opened in Quicktime.
This site has a couple of work-arounds. The second one worked for me.

Re: Error When Copying Audio to Sequence
The "trimming" the top of the movie likely remove a Vimeo/Flash header that confuses QT. That would be my guess, but I can't program "HELLO WORLD" (not any more at least - and once was enough). Why one would want to download a work file from Vimeo is still something of a mystery to me - but that's probably just me.

Agreed. I don't ask and they don't tell me.MIDI Life Crisis wrote:Why one would want to download a work file from Vimeo is still something of a mystery to me - but that's probably just me.
