can't import rex files in DP 7.22

Post by loofa »

did anyone try to import rex files (.rx2) in DP since 7.22 update? For me it's actually impossible, and here are the DP alerts:

Image

or

Image
So, "I/O error (-36)" or "File not found (-43)" !!???
Usually I made it by drag and drop,on a mono or stereo track, and it was ok til now. I tried with other rex files, no success.
I looked for, but didn't find any new option in DP...
And of course, I repaired permissions, reboot, recreate a new session,..etc..

Thanks, but it doesn't work, with rex 1.6 or 1.7
Is it ok for you? Because on my computer I trashed 7.21 version (ok I know, not very wise...), but I tried on another computer, keeping 7.21, and it's the same: not working on 7.22, and ok with 7.21. So this makes me think that it's not a problem with DP corrupting the rex shared library.

@ Frodo & Jarok: please can you tell me how and where rex shared lib extensions appears in your system? Im my case:
1) in /Library/Application support:
two aliases, "REX Shared Library" and "REX Shared Library.bundle", both 1.6 version, and the originals are in /Propellerhead Software/Rex
2) in user/Library/Application support/Propellerhead Software/Rex:
REX Shared Library.bundle (1.6 version)

If I'm right, Rex shared lib 1.7 is only for Logic 64 bits, as it's told on propllhds's site...

Remove the file type extension from the end of the file name, and then try again.

It works for me on a few different systems. Remove the .rx2 file type extension from the file name in Finder's Get Info window.

Yes I did it, but it's the same error message again. I think I tried everything, the only solution is actually to revert to 7.21 version.

Did you remove all "REX Shared Library" and "REX Shared Library.bundles"

before you installed the new REX Shared Library?

I´m just guessing that if you did´t it can be that the installation went wrong.

Repair Disk Permissions before you install again.

This problem has nothing to do with the REX shared library. It is apparently a side effect of recent changes to how Digital Performer handles file type extensions and HFS file system metadata.

If you only remove the file type extension from the end of the name in a Finder window, the extension will not be removed. It will only be hidden. Simply hiding the extension will not work around the problem. You must remove it from the file name in the Finder's Get Info dialog. This works for me on every system I've tried.

Has anyone found a solution for this error yet (other than renaming files)? This is really killing my workflow.

I still have 7.21 installed, and when I checked I could open files in 7.21 to drag'n'drop the REX files, then re-open the projects in 7.22. It's a pain, but once the REX files are in the project everything seemed to work fine in 7.22.

Looking forward to a fix.
