I'm having a problem installing Cuemix FX for my MicroBook on a new laptop. I opened a Technote on Sunday (three days ago), but no comment from MOTU yet.
Maybe somebody here could offer a suggestion for me?
Thanks!
Here's what I've put in the MOTU technote:

I'm installing my MicroBook on a new laptop with Win7 Premium 64bit. Driver package 100920 installs fine. When I start Cuemix, it says it needs firmware 1.07, but mine shows 0.00.0.0. My serial number shows as MB000000 (I forget how many zeros).

I found some MOTU drivers in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\motufwa64.inf_amd64_neutral_1baf7ae669b396e1.

I found a Tech Note on this site, but it didn't work for me. I don't have the same problem, anyway. but gave it a try. My Cuemix runs fine, it just can't see my MicroBook. It can't read the firmware ID or serial number from the unit. Ableton Live shows the MB as an asio device, but can't use it. Live locked up once while I tried to adjust the audio preferences, and exhibited other shaky behavior.

Re: Problem installing MicroBook on new computer.
I've seen problems with bus-powered devices like the MicroBook when the bus isn't providing the nominal current or voltage to the device. Have you tried connecting the MicroBook to a powered USB hub? Since it has its own power supply, the hub will ensure that the MicroBook gets the proper current and voltage.
The leading cause of wrong answers is asking the wrong questions.

1nput0utput,
A powered USB hub solved it!
Thank you VERY much for offering the suggestion. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond.

I know MOTU staff read this forum. The last time I had a problem, I posted here after waiting days for a response to my Tech Note. Somebody here helped me out (thanks!). Then a MOTU employee who apparently reads this forum closed the ticket.
It's too bad MOTU can't seem to respond to their customers unless the solution shows up in this forum first.
