Setup for 24 io: hardware and SO

Hi All,
I am projecting a PC based daw with the Motu 24 io.

I am sure it will work with any setup, but I would try to get the best possible.

Could someone be so kind to help me? Some advices or ideas for the best results?
I will mainly have to manage with samples read by soft samplers and long heavy audio tracks.
I will use Cubase.
Also...any advice if to use Win 7? I have no experience with it.

I am oriented on a ASUS mobo.

I have a good budget, so you can purpose everything :)

I am looking for advices about setting up a PC with windows.
I have to buy a new PC.
Which motherboards to use...video card...Windows XP or 7...???
I would like to know your experiences with the Motu 24 i/o and the best Computer setup to use with this great audio card!

any idea is appreciated!
