Ultrlite MKIII cuemix analysis issues

Post by Thomasgreco »

When I open up one of the analysis tools(Graph,Meter) in cuemix FFT ,XY,Osc or Phase meters up in the devices menu up top all I get is distortion pops ect with all my DAW's. Any one have these issues. If I choose to use the smaller window in cuemix for analysis up top right next to monitor level there is no prob. Only if I open on of the separate bigger windows from devices up top left. Anyone??

It could be that the CPU is getting overloaded when the analysis windows are open. Keep in mind that the CueMix FX analyses are computed by the CPU. If there are many CPU-intensive effects plug-ins or virtual instruments in the sequence you're playing back in the DAW program, their load plus CueMix FX's load may be more than your CPU can handle.
The leading cause of wrong answers is asking the wrong questions.

Well maybe but I'm running a 2.6 quad, so I would lean to no because I have this problem if I'm running just a few tracks and little effects. It only happens if I open the separate analysis window and Motu tech support won't answer my email about it?!? Thanks for the input I appreciate it! :)

i have the same issue , its not you computer ,the driver has not been designed properly ,in my book it is completely unusable for any sort of recording or playback with an analysis window open , i tried uninstalling ,reinstalling ,unistalling other firewire and usb devices but no difference at all so after 4 hours of trying i uninstalled it and moved back to the older driver . how can a new driver be 11 megs and the older driver 29 megs ?

Does it work with the older driver or is unavailable with the older driver?

Also Motu tech support doesn't even read my emails (techlinks) either. It's been weeks.

the only difference i can see with the older driver is no separate window for the fft and no tuner , but it is very stable and i have no issues with cuemix at all when using cubase with waves fx , believe me ive put it through the test , i can't believe motu have released an unusable driver , (mind you i had an 828 m11 for 3 years and it packed up and was very disappointed as ive been working with motu since 1992 ,hence motu gave me a choice of a new 828 for £300 or an ultralite hybred for £140).all in all i think the hybred is built and designed a lot better than the 828 ,they just need to sort the issue with the new drive !
