application transition Issue

Post by csiaudio »

Hi, I have had this issue for some time and posted it some time ago here and received a response that I'm not sure was accurate. It's kind of difficult to explain the issue so possibly that was the problem with the response that I received.

Here is the situation. First, I create marketing audio for businesses and am constantly popping in and out of DP going to either MS Word or Open Office (this issue happens with both apps) to verify copy to the v/o's in DP. So when I pop into these apps (Word or Open Office) then back into DP by clicking in the Session window or basically anywhere in DP the Mac is staying in Open Office and not registering that I have clicked into the DP app. However I can click and drag in DP or highlight items even though the Mac thinks it's still in the other app but I can't do any editing or anything else in DP. There are NO other apps that have this issue of the Mac not realizing that it's suppose to be in a different app. Even the top left corner of the screen where it shows what app you are in still shows that I am in Office and not in DP even though I am clearly clicking into DP. It's weird and VERY frustrating. I have to click almost every time on the DP icon in the dock to get DP to react to my editing. Does anyone know the reason for this or better yet a solution?

The previous post said that this was an Apple issue and that they were working on it. Well it's been this way since 10.4.3 and it hasn't been dealt with...so I am now leaning towards a MOTU issue.

Thoughts?
